SINO EUROPEAN WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN MUSIC
The rising interest of Chinese audiences in music offers unexplored prospects for companies in the music industry. Yet, discovering this market requires personal guidance and understanding that can only be acquired through active cooperation. SINO EUROPEAN WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN MUSIC is the result of 3 initiatives:
- MEWEM EUROPA: a successful European initiative based on a mentoring programme, with experienced female managers who support the business development of young female entrepreneurs / leaders ;
- EXPORT MUSIC DAYS: a support for the internationalisation of Jazz and World music to China ;
- BRIDGING THE DRAGON: connecting European & Chinese film industry. The dynamism, enthusiasm and power of the female mentoring cycles make it possible to initiate, develop and consolidate lasting and fruitful relationships between music companies.
LABA, WOMEX, Musiques de Nuit and EMEE offer a new programme based on female mentoring and export support of European music industries. They develop :
- 2 mentoring cycles in the framework of the SEML ;
- Sino European Music Lab (3 professional meetings in 2 years for 70 female entrepreneurs) ;
- 1 transcultural guide based on the work of 6 world music artists, writers, designers and philosophers - construction of 2 legal and management vademecum (live music and digital music industry) ;
- setting up a SEML contact point dedicated to the exchange of know-how, sharing of resources and support for Sino-European cooperation in the sector.
The results and resources will be shared with 10,000 professionals (women and men) from the European music industry in 2 years. Supported by French Institute and CNM, Musiques de Nuit provides the artistic and logistical direction. LABA develops the technical and cross-cultural resources of the contact point. EMEE (established in 25 European countries) and WOMEX offer their capacity to mobilise audiences, disseminate the results and make the project known on a large scale, in Europe and beyond.
